Reasons For Homeschooling
There are just about as many reasons for homeschooling as there are homeschoolers. Everyone is going to have a different reason for their family.
WHY HOME-SCHOOL?
Top reasons cited by parents (could pick more than one):
• Concerns about the school environment (including safety, drugs, peer pressure): 88%
• A desire to provide religious or moral instruction: 83%
• A dissatisfaction with instruction at other schools: 73%
• An interest in a non-traditional approach: 65%

The reason or reasons that you homeschool or are thinking of homeschooling may not even be on that list. I, for one, can say that God led me in the direction of homeschooling. My reasons change depending on the day! I started off concerned about the school environment and I wanted to provide a good moral and religious foundation for our children before they go to a school. (I figured they would go at about 6th grade. Not so, now.) Some days my reason may include - just to avoid the messes I've seen in public school. Most days one of my reasons are so that I can produce a well rounded child.
Many people have many reasons why they homeschool. If you are considering homeschool, you may like to read this article just to get an idea of what reasons other people have. Whatever your reason, I'm sure it is for the betterment of your child and family.

You CAN Homeschool!
YOU CAN HOMESCHOOL! (Do I need to do a cheer? I will...) If you are thinking about homeschooling, do not fear. There is no wrong way in homeschooling. My suggestion to you is read, read, read and pray, pray, pray. There is more than enough free information on the net to get you started (Considering Homeschooling). I'm sure there are MANY books on homeschooling but I'll be honest, I've never read even one. I've been homeschooling for 12 years and I've gotten all of my info from the net.
If you are thinking about pulling your child out of public school, please read about that here: Public School It is something that you can legally do. You will have to check into your state's homeschool laws. People do this every day. You must educate yourself before you pull out your child. READ and PRAY!
